Since they're asking questions Mr. Green will have new variants of cars already available in the mod? for example the Ford Gt 40MKII or Can-Am version, Corvette C2 Grand Sport, etc. Smile

WOW, stunning video Stabiz!

Now we can have a little idea of what's to come...brilliant!

2 Questions though:

1:What graphic definitions did you use, was this all video editing or did you made some tweaks like HDR enbseries plugin, or cubemaps...mas those images, mainly the ones in the begining inside the 908 chasing the Falcon (i think) are amazing!!

2: Besides the new cars that you've shown, there are any more new jewels to come in the release that you didn't present in your video?

MANY THANKS

Thanks, toivonen! There are lots of colour editing in that video, but no HDR plugin or other plugins whatsoever, the sweet refelctions you see are real due to new cube maps. Smile Also note new sounds on the "old" cars.

And yes, the team has made/are making LOTS of new stuff. Dont worry, socks being blown off is guaranteed. Laughing

Stay tuned, a closer look at the Ferrari 250 GTO is next up. (in a week or so)

THANKS Stabiz, you're one of the ones that are in the restrict group of artists..there's no doubt about it!

Yup, fantastc sounds..new cubemaps, i would be blown even if the noveltys were "only" those cars you've shown, but if you say that there's more than this, than....the BEST will only get even BETTER!! Fantastic really...with time, i'm getting more and more fan of everything that is classic, that somehow still makes a bridge to a world that is evident is desapearing by the looks of it Crying or Very sad ...so having it represented with this masterpiece, is true GOLD for me!

THANKS for all the team, and i can't waity for future videos!

PS-One more thing, the question than no modder want's to hear...can we have any hope that this upgrade will be a very special xmas gift still this year?! Embarassed

We don't have release date yet, sorry. We're trying to release it as fast as we can, but quality goes first. So, I'm afraid we can't even give you a rough approximation.

Thanks for your kind words! Smile

(sorry for my bad english) First, thanks for your awesome job...

For me little mistakes whith the modelisation of the 904. it's concerning the bonnet light not enough larger...

And the front of the car before the wheels is too long...

And the rear spoiler...

Lot of details of the car here...

Hi Stef,

first of all your english is not bad at all Smile

Second, lot of thanks for contacting us and showing these pics, which are very good, by the way.

Do you know if these cars are original 904s or are some of these many reproductions which are around? Not sure, but look like reproductions.

Anyway, while researching information about the 904 we found that almost any 904 is different to the rest (this happens more often in reproductions).

Take a look to these pics, and you'll see how some of the things you suggest appear in other 904s:

904s without rear spolier

About the front section being too long, the position and angle of view used in that screenshot you saw might be cheating your eye a bit. Take a look to these pics, showing an early version of the 904, but from a better view, and you'll see in fact that front section is not that long:

We used 904's blueprints to create our model, and many pics of different 904s as reference. And yep, we could have done some mistake too in the modelling (nobody is perfect, even more if we talk about us, hehe) but anyway the actual version is going to be considered as final, because we could be doing and redoing things once and again to improve them and we would never release the next version. And frankly, before the actual version we already had a good amount of previous ones. I guess you understand our point Smile

But again, lot of thanks for your comments, we really appreciate the effort of researching and sharing with us such information!

Regards

Thanks for the response Rantam, modelisation of a car is a very difficult art job...

And good luke for your mod version 2.0.

I wait it...

Ramtam, I think I wrote that somewhere here.

I agree with Stef Bord.
As far as I know The front lights aren't like this.

Maybe you're right and the pictures above are 904 replicas, but as you can see bellow, on the original ones, the lights are going to meet the front cap (not sure about the word).

In your 3Dmodel, they are far away. That's the reason why they looks so strange. They should be much larger...

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/01/1964-05_Training_Porsche_904_8-Zyl._wahrscheinl._E._Barth.jpg

Or directly to the Porsche website : http://www.porsche.com/germany/sportandevents/motorsport/history/racingcars/60ies/1964-904-8carreracoupe/

You can also see that there is an issue with the front lights, and probably also with the rear spoiler.

Hi,

first of all, thanks for your comments. Anything to help to improve our cars is always welcomed.

I'll go back to my original answer about this:I'm not saying that Stef Bord or you are wrong about this. I say that we used a blueprint that might not match 100% with these versions you show ( as i wrote there're different versions of 904s around), and apart that of course the car we modeled is not flawless, as was done by human beings. We assume all that Smile

But after a lot of months working on it we consider the current version is looking more than good enough to be considered as "ready" to be included in the mod.

In any serious project you assign resources and establish the goals based on that and the amount of time you consider necessary to spend reaching them. We could be endlessly improving and improving things, but doing these changes you may consider fast to do would take a good amount of time. And with our limited resources we hardly would move on if we did so.

If the car were in a previous stage we would consider to do it seriously, as we did with many other things we changed on it in the past, but i'm afraid that's not the case now.

So, again, thanks for your comments, but the 904 is going to be released in its current state in the next version. I don't say we won't improve it in the future, but now we're definitively focused in other cars that need more attention than this one.

Hope you understand the point Smile

Best regards

Of course I understand Wink

I have no clue about 3D modding, but I can imagine that it's a lot of work to do Smile

And you know that we are waiting for the next patch to correct at least the technical issues of the current cars.

To be honest, I'm happy to see new cars, but that's not the point that makes me impatient to see the patch being public Very Happy
So for me the 904 is anyway good enough if it can accelerate the patch delivery Laughing

Hey guys ,

I actually didn't notice that , although i was thinking about the lights looking weirdly .
We have a fine sharp audiance i would say , nice one Stef Smile
But like stated above, you'll be stunned with the new update ..and to be fairly honest , when driving this 904 with dashbord-view..you'll never look at those lights again !
Laughing

Wkr , laters!
